Future Card Buddyfight Wiki

Buddyfight is a series for kids, no doubt about it. Most of the time, it is very lighthearted and rather stupid. When he decides to be smart (by this series' standards) it can be entertaining. Even for someone like me.

Though, from the second season onward (please correct me if I'm wrong), the main plot, The Disaster, disappeared. Dropped in favor of a completely random, disconnected storyline. Buddyfight Ace has yet to start, and I doubt The Disaster will reappear in it. If it does, I'll be surprised.

The premise of different worlds and their densins being connected to Earth via a card game (because reasons?) is very interesting. Of course, as I'd mentioned before, this series is for kids. So, whatever potential for deep storylines is most likely not going to fully utilized. And even if it has, most of it has been forgotten or ignored.

I sometimes wonder why I still watch this series. The fights are censored so the hits don't have much of an impact. The characters use Impacts to finish the game (I suppose to save on budget). And the character development is scarce.

If you think I'm taking this series too seriously, I do as well. It might be because I want to look at it from an artistic point of view, rather than that of what this show really is: an over-glorified card commercial.
